Managed service provider Hyperix has been chosen to improve Sydney Football Club’s cyber security posture, utilising technology from Acronis over a three-year agreement.

Labelled as Sydney FC’s exclusive cyber protection partner, the MSP will oversee all security services for the club and provide cyber security offerings from Acronis, tapping into its advanced security packs, such as its Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) product.

“This partnership isn’t just about using the best-in-class technology to uplevel an organisation’s security defences—it’s about teamwork. Through this collaboration, we’re making sure Sydney FC’s digital game stays on point,” said Bill Bilalis, Hyperix chief technical officer.

“It’s all about reliability and security, both on and off the field. Together, we’re not just defending data; we’re teaming up for the better good of securing the team’s digital infrastructure.”

Kelly Johnson, Acronis general manager for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), said the partnership between the three groups is a “winning play, fortifying the club’s digital defence with our advanced cyber security solutions”.

Meanwhile, Mark Aubrey, Sydney FC CEO, added that the alliance ensures the protection of its data and operations, allowing the club to focus on “what we do best – playing great football and winning games.”

Acronis’ arrangement with Hyperix and Sydney FC comes months after Johnson told ARN in April that she is currently focusing on bringing more exposure to the vendor in the market.
