Will now manage all verticals of the Asia Pacific and Japan business. Credit: James Wright (Cloudian) Cloudian has promoted James Wright from senior director of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) to the role of managing director of APJ. A spokesperson from Cloudian told ARN this new role was created specifically for Wright based on current market demands and his performance. “James has been delivering a very successful strategy not only for sales but for all of APJ’s operations,” they stated. “APJ is a very diverse region and it takes various skills and years of experience to grow the business at its own pace in every country and use the resources wisely.” In his previous role, Wright was primarily sales-focused. As managing director, he will be responsible for the entire APJ business, the spokesperson said. Cloudian is not looking for a replacement for Wright’s previous position. “We are not at this stage, but we are facing rapid growth in the region and hope new resources will follow,” they said. According to the spokesperson, the company faces rapid growth in the APJ region. Its main focus at the moment is on implementing its 2025 strategy, which involves maximising its potential in the current market dynamics. In June, Wright told ARN Cloudian APJ was set to benefit from the company’s head office’s closing of US$23 million (A$34.5 million) in growth financing from Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. The investment, which was announced on 26 June, was expected at the time to go towards “product innovation and sales and marketing initiatives” to meet demand for AI data lake software. Wright said at the time the APJ region will see a share of that financing, which will be used for channel programs and channel growth, as well as driving its AI data lake software.
