Makes HAT the vendor’s first local distributor. Credit: Josh Gammer (HAT Distribution) HAT Distribution has added UK cyber security vendor CyberSmart to its Australian portfolio, making it first local distributor to offer the platform. Founded in 2016, the vendor’s cyber security platform is designed for managed service providers (MSP) and small- to medium-sized enterprises (SME), offering tools such as cyber awareness training, device monitoring, cyber insurance, policy management and certification. Additionally, for local users, HAT claimed CyberSmart provides SMEs with access to assessment for the federal government’s Essential Eight security guidelines, as well as CyberSmart Active Protect, an on-device agent that offers endpoint monitoring and risk management, among other features. Josh Gammer, general manager of HAT Distribution, said the vendor’s platform will assist with providing smaller businesses with cyber security support. “When CyberSmart approached HAT to discuss their expansion into the Australian market, we saw a unique opportunity … to assist Australian SMB customers with their ever-evolving cyber security needs,” he said to ARN. “We are focused on leading a transformative shift in cyber security compliance in Australia by empowering every SMB [small- to medium-sized business] with the essential tools needed to embrace and excel in the government’s recommended Essential Eight standards.” HAT’s agreement with CyberSmart comes more than a month after it added network and security device automation vendor BackBox to its portfolio for Australia and New Zealand back in March.
