Huntress MSP partners will gain SMB1001 certifications and can also offer them to their customers. Credit: Reece Appleton (Huntress) Managed cyber security platform Huntress has partnered with CyberCert to provide certifications for service providers. The partnership between the two organisations, which is headed by Huntress regional director for Asia Pacific (APAC) Reece Appleton and CyberCert cofounder and CEO Peter Maynard, will offer SMB1001 certifications for Huntress’ managed service provider (MSP) partners. The certification is from Cyber Security Certification Australia (CSCAU), which is available across five tiers of Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. It provides partners with a standard that can be used in conjunction with, or as a pathway to, the federal government’s Australian Signals Directorate’s Essential Eight guidelines or ISO 27001. It is not intended, however, to be a replacement for those frameworks. Under the partnership, partners will be able to be certified at the Gold level while having the choice of offering certification bundles to their customers, with variations of Bronze, Silver and Gold on offer. “Through Huntress subsidising a number of these certification subscriptions, our partners can take their customers on a cybersecurity improvement journey and provide them with something tangible to prove their cyber security posture to the world,” Appleton said.
