Macquarie Telecom has rolled out a secure, multi-carrier access wide area network (WAN) for residential construction company Summit Homes.

The telecommunication service provider rolled out the network to all of its sites, selecting from a range of carriers, including NBN and Telstra, among others, as well as providing network resilience with 4G and 5G backup.

In the last few years, Summit Homes’ business has expanded from 280 to more than 500 staff and multiple additional sites. The growth led the Perth-based builder to implement a tender process for integrated telecommunications solutions.

Summit Homes IT manager Fabio Fusari said the company had previously partnered with Macquarie Telecom in 2003 for a mobile fleet of over 200 services. In the end, Summit Homes sided with the telco service provider on the project.

“The dedicated project management team at Macquarie Telecom ensured the rollout of the network to all sites, including our showcase head office and new regional offices, was smooth,” he said. “If we had an issue, our call would be answered immediately by someone local and we knew the problem would be fixed.”

According to Summit, the new rollout has improved network infrastructure, which resulted in boosted connectivity and efficiency across all sites and primed the company for continued expansion.
