Credit: Neels du Plooy (Freshworks) / Citrix Neels du Plooy has moved on from his post at Splunk and is now in charge of channel at Freshworks for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ). He enters into the role months after Freshwork’s former head of channel sales, Amr Farghali, was impacted by a regional restructure in October 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. Farghali has sinced joined OVO Energy as partnerships manager in March. Meanwhile, du Plooy comes into his new role with over 20 years of technology and telecommunications business experience, with the vast majority of these roles all being channel-facing roles. His most recent role at Splunk was that of regional manager for partners and alliances for A/NZ, which he held for one and a half years up until January. Prior to that, he worked at VMware for nine years, with roughly half this time spent as its head of channels for A/NZ. He has also worked at ShoreTel, Cisco and Avaya. “I am excited to have Neels du Plooy join us to further the channels and alliances business in the A/NZ region,” said Doug Farber, SVP of global channels and alliances at Freshworks. “Neels has led the A/NZ channel program for a number of global companies and his expertise and regional know-how will be key to unlocking the market for us.” Related content news Microsoft's A/NZ SMB channel lead Brad Clarke leaves Leaves his position after “after 17 rewarding years”.
