Credit: SomYuZu / Shutterstock Wavelink has expanded its security operations (SecOps) portfolio with a security information and event management (SIEM)-as-a-service offering for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) partners in conjunction with Laminar Communications. Named Lumenir, the specialist distributor said it will purchase the SIEM offerings from Laminar, which will then execute the services on Wavelink’s behalf, acting as a service provider. Lumenir allows the distributor’s partners to offer real-time monitoring and analysis of security alerts generated by network hardware and applications. Ilan Rubin, Wavelink CEO said more new service offerings are set to follow Lumenir’s launch. “Wavelink is strengthening its security offerings through continual growth and expansion of its services via strategic partnerships,” he said. “By partnering with leading vendors and service providers, Wavelink can offer its partners a competitive edge in the security market. “SIEM is just the start of new services that Wavelink is looking to bring to its partners to enhance their market position and fuel their growth.” In addition, Wavelink is undertaking a series of roadshows across Australia with Laminar and Fortinet as part of the service’s launch. The distributor has been focusing on its cyber security services in recent weeks, with the Lumenir launch coming a week after it became a Fortinet Authorised Training Centre and close to two weeks after it announced its A/NZ partnership with security automation vendor Swimlane.
