The expansion follows a successful two-year collaboration in North Asia Credit: Phil Cameron Westcon-Comstor has expanded its deal for Broadcom’s Symantec cyber security portfolio to cover Southeast Asia and A/NZ. The expansion follows a successful two-year collaboration in North Asia, where Westcon-Comstor is sole aggregator for the Symantec cybersecurity portfolio. Under the expanded collaboration, Westcon-Comstor will leverage the Symantec portfolio to drive growth and recurring revenues for channel partners across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. In addition to geographic expansion, the agreement has been broadened from the small and medium-sized business (SMB) segment to include channel partners serving the corporate customer segment as well. “We’re delighted to see the extension of our already successful Broadcom Symantec partnership,” Westcon-Comstor Australia managing director, Phil Cameron said. “This enhanced partnership will create wider opportunities for our valued partners. Broadcom Symantec has been an existing vendor within our portfolio for the last three years. We see the continuation of high demand from partners and end-users alike for cyber security this year.” The expansion comes two years after Westcon-Comstor was made the sole Symantec cyber security aggregator for the SMB segment in the North Asian markets of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Korea and Mongolia. During the two-year collaboration, Westcon on-boarded 1,700 transacting cybersecurity partners for Symantec in the region. On top of providing strong renewals, these partners have grown Broadcom’s Symantec net-new business by more than 20 percent each year. “We’re excited to expand our role as sole aggregator for the Symantec cybersecurity portfolio in terms of both geographic reach and customer profile,” Westcon-Comstor CMO and APAC VP Patrick Aronson said. “Asia-Pacific has long been a market where Symantec has enjoyed commercial success and strong brand recognition. This new agreement means we are committing to a regional partnership, leveraging Symantec’s innovative solutions and providing a platform for accelerated growth for cybersecurity channel partners across APAC.” Broadcom VP of global enterprise, partner and commercial sales, Cynthia Lord added Westcon-Comstor’s expertise in cybersecurity, channel reach across the region and deep understanding of its portfolio, made it the ideal aggregation and distribution partner. “Together, we will bring the Symantec portfolio to a wider audience, creating new revenue opportunities for channel partners and enabling end-user customers to stay protected amid constantly evolving and increasingly complex security threats,” Lord said.
