The basis of forming an extensive AI-ready ecosystem is steady within Lenovo’s pocket-to-cloud strategy including devices, infrastructure, solutions and services.

“This covers our AI-powered notebook and desktop devices but also AI-powered services that can streamline and simplify processes for end-users,” Lenovo Australia country general manager Silke Barlow said.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for our industry, with so much potential still to be unlocked through using the power of AI to drive intelligent transformation across different sectors.

“We believe this can only be achieved with the support of our partners and their vast expertise in simplifying delivery and adoption processes to customers.

“Our goal is to continue to empower them to do that.”

A prime example of these AI services is the Lenovo Sustainability AI Engine (L.I.S.S.A), which uses generative AI to help businesses track sustainability goals.

Barlow said Lenovo’s portfolio of end-to-end services and solutions, along with a series of channel resources are available to partners as needed, whether they want to transact on devices, build solutions, or deliver managed services.

“We are strongly committed to staying ahead of the curve in powering our services and solutions offerings with AI-innovation,” she said.

“This, combined with our unique pocket-to-cloud offerings, places us at the forefront of the market and positions us well to enable our partners to support end-users on their journeys as they adopt AI to grow, innovate and add real value to their organisations.

“By choosing Lenovo with Dicker Data, partners gain access to cutting-edge technology and ongoing support across sales, solutions, and stock, ensuring they are well-equipped with end-to-end solutions to help end-users achieve business outcomes.”

Barlow added Dicker Data was one of its most valuable distributors in Australia and a long-standing partner with TechX presenting an important opportunity for its team to engage and showcase its pocket-to-cloud capability. Its range of solutions are designed to help partners navigate market trends, expand revenue streams, and meet end customers’ needs.

“Our role as a Diamond sponsor underscores our commitment to strengthening Lenovo’s channel ecosystem locally and our channel-first approach,” she said.

Lenovo’s key focus in 2024 was to continue developing its pocket-to-cloud strategy with a solution and service-led approach that supports end-users in achieving business outcomes, regardless of where they are in the digital transformation journey, Barlow said.

“As a channel-centric organisation, this approach naturally considers our partners and the crucial role they play in our go to market strategy,” she said.

“We’ve made significant changes internally to build a unified mindset and a holistic approach to our portfolio, ensuring that this comes through when we go to market and speak to partners.

“We want to take them with us on this journey, enabling them to adopt the same end-to-end approach with their own clients. We understand that every partner has different capabilities and offerings, and our focus is augmenting and complementing these.”

Lenovo’s priorities in 2024 were split into two key pillars with its pocket-to-cloud approach and how we can work with our partners to take this solution-based mindset to market, she said.

“We are currently the only IT vendor that can offer this holistic approach to customers, from PCs and mobile devices to data centre capabilities, and we want to ensure our partners are well-prepared to leverage that,” she said.

The second key area is a service-led transformation, Barlow said and how it can collaborate with partners to support end-users in achieving business outcomes. This goes beyond hardware, encompassing offerings across SaaS, DaaS and IaaS.

For the year ahead, Barlow said one of the main evolving trends becoming critical to the ecosystem was the next phase of AI evolution.

“We’ve seen significant changes in chips this year, driven by providers like Intel, Qualcomm, and AMD, which are set to profoundly impact IT infrastructure productivity and machine computing capabilities,” she said.

“This shift will democratise AI further, making it mainstream for consumers and businesses alike. From a business perspective, it will be critical to adapt AI strategies to capitalise on these advancements and integrate AI more deeply into operations.”

At the same time, Barlow said as AI becomes more integrated into business operations, companies must ensure they have robust infrastructure and stringent security protocols in place to support AI-driven processes effectively and protect sensitive data.

“Partners will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting end-users through this transformation, helping them navigate these shifts and make informed decisions to achieve their business goals,” she said.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for our industry, and it is crucial for partners to select vendors that will strategically position them for the future of AI and enhance their capabilities through key partnerships.

“Lenovo is uniquely positioned to harness the exponential growth of AI, thanks to our pocket-to-cloud portfolio, strong ecosystem, and strategic alliances with industry leaders such as NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Microsoft, and Qualcomm.”

Additionally, Barlow said in a time of innovation and evolution, partners need to rely on vendors that show leadership, which Lenovo is consistently delivering.

“Dicker Data is one of Lenovo’s biggest distributors in this region and we take pride in the value and benefits we bring to our partners through this relationship,” she said.

“Leveraging Dicker Data’s deep market understanding and close relationship with Lenovo, partners receive the necessary guidance and resources to capitalise on new opportunities, expand revenue streams, and navigate the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

“This collaboration enables partners to deliver superior AI-powered solutions with confidence and efficiency.”
