Internet and application security solutions vendor Cloudflare has struck a global partnership with Kyndryl.

The partnership will focus on migrating and managing customers’ networks ensuring multi-cloud connectivity and network security.

Kyndryl, formerly IBM’s managed services arm, will offer consulting and services spanning enterprise networking, security and resiliency, plus Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud.

Kyndryl and Cloudflare first partnered in May 2023 to modernise enterprise infrastructure with end-to-end services, bringing managed WAN-as-a-Service and Cloudflare Zero Trust to an entire corporate network.

The global partnership will focus on “innovation to design, build, manage and modernise customers’ vital systems”.

Meanwhile, Cloudflare has helped Kyndryl transform its network services and provide cloud cybersecurity protection, including DDoS mitigation.

Since adopting Cloudflare’s global connectivity cloud network and security services, Kyndryl has “seen a reduction in IT infrastructure costs, accelerated web traffic and increased performance for data load balancing”.

“Together with Cloudflare, we are enabling enterprises to migrate to next-generation networks and capitalise on advanced cloud features to achieve greater agility and innovation. We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Cloudflare, an industry leader in cloud networking and Zero Trust,” said Paul Savill, global practice leader of networking and edge compute at Kyndryl. “With Kyndryl’s expert managed and consulting services, we will be helping our joint customers secure, streamline and simplify their IT infrastructure, all while reducing costs and improving operational efficiencies.”

Matt Harrell, global head of channels and alliances at Cloudflare, said the vendor had been able to “scale … at a new level” since partnering with Kyndryl.

“Our global strategic alliance can support any enterprise now across their entire network stack, regardless of where they stand in their cloud journey,” he added.

At the end of last year, Cloudflare appointed Steve Bray to lead its operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Melbourne-based Bray now holds the title of head of Australia and New Zealand, having previously led the region for Zendesk for the last three years.
