Credit: Simon Oliver (Gigamon) Networking visibility vendor Gigamon has appointed Cirrus’ Simon Oliver to lead its Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) channel. Oliver replaces Ken Cartwright, who left Gigamon after three years in October last year to handle channel management for Imperva. Based in Melbourne, Oliver will be responsible for leading Gigamon’s channel-first strategy in the growing A/NZ region. Oliver has previously worked in senior roles for NetApp, The Cloud Collective and Interactive, as well as VM Tech and IBM. Most recently, he spent almost a year working at managed services provider Cirrus as cloud and alliances lead. “My focus is on meeting customers’ and partners’ needs to drive growth, increase revenue and expand market share to enhance our overall competitiveness in the marketplace,” said Oliver. “The ever-changing security landscape is both exciting and challenging, as our partners and customers continue to collaborate to leverage our deep observability capabilities to meet secure and manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure.” Kenny Tan, Gigamon Asia Pacific’s senior director for channel, noted that with Oliver’s “extensive industry experience and results-driven approach”, the vendor would look to expand its partner relationships in A/NZ. On a global level, Dee Dee Acquista was appointed as Gigamon’s vice president of worldwide channel and alliances in February last year.
