The South Australian government has signed a four-year integration platform-as-a-service (iPaaS) agreement with Salesforce for its MuleSoft technology.

The new deal will support the integration of SA’s legacy tech systems and follows a whole-of-government agreement signed between the state and Salesforce last year, with the pair working together since at least 2015.

According to Salesforce, the deal provides capability to support the consistent and secure enablement of MuleSoft across government and comes as part of the state government’s Finance Reform Program.

Salesforce is already used across various government agencies, including SA Health, Department for Education, Attorney General’s Department, Department of Human Services and the SA Housing Authority.

“The implementation of the MuleSoft iPaaS provides an exciting opportunity to simplify and accelerate data sharing and collaboration between SA government agencies and with the public,” said Mark Carey, executive director of SA’s Department of Treasury and Finance.

The vendor also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for carbon emissions reductions in 2022, while the South Australian government previously paired up with Salesforce and other industry partners to start the Indo-Pacific Carbon Accounting Lab that same year.
