Australian connectivity solutions vendor Comsol has bought local competitor Blupeak for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2018, Bluepeak manufactures connectivity devices and provides audio visual (AV), data and mobile power solutions.

Comsol, meanwhile, was founded in 1991 and sells its own connectivity solutions for the IT, AV and mobile phone accessories industries via a wide channel of partners.

According to Comsol, the deal combines Blupeak’s technical expertise and commercial focus with Comsol’s channel network and market presence.

The acquisition will create a combined staff count of 22 with Blupeak director Tom Anderson taking on the role of product director for Comsol.

“Having worked for Comsol in my early career and extensively with Comsol in various capacities over the years, it feels like coming full circle to be rejoining this fantastic team at such a pivotal moment,” Anderson said.

“Joining forces with Comsol is not just a merger of two companies, but a fusion of shared visions and values. It’s an opportunity to leverage our combined strengths, expertise and industry knowledge to develop and deliver world-class products and support to our customers.”

Teresa McMellon, general manager of Comsol, said the vendor was now in an “even stronger position to enhance our product offerings”.

“I am confident that together, we will set new benchmarks in the industry and continue to exceed the expectations of our customers,” she added.
